Heated Internal Downdraft Spray Booths

OVERVIEW

NorAM has been manufacturing the industry-leading M3X series of booths since 1995. These booths offer the highest level of performance available on the market at a very competitive price. The NorAM M3XI Internal Paint Booth offers several unique features:
  • Rugged post and beam construction is designed for use under all weather conditions.

  • A sturdy center truss runs the full length of the booth plenum and supports the roof. Our interlocking weather-tight 3" standing seam roof system is made of 18 gauge galvanized steel. It is roll-formed over the full width of the roof and attached with a hidden fastener system that secures without screwing through the roof top. This design provides the booth with a penetration-free roof that won't leak. The attachment method also allows for explosion relief.

  • Large one-piece beams span the full width of booth. They are evenly spaced across the interior and have gussets at each end for extra cabin strength.

  • Self-sealing interlocking wall panels are 2½" thick X 30" wide X 11' tall (there is insulation and internal framing for the full height of the booth structure, including the plenum). Panels consist of two 20 gauge galvanized steel sheets that are factory etched, primed, and finished in non-glare white. These panels are locked over a rigid internal steel frame and packed with 3" of R-19 fiberglass insulation. Our panels weigh about twice as much as our competitors' because they are built to last. Nobody builds a tougher cabin.

  • Floor track system locks the booth securely to the ground and serves both as a spill containment dam and as a curb to prevent intrusion by water or contaminants.

  • Drive doors are 9' tall X 9'9" wide and feature a built in personnel door. All doors are 3" thick, internally framed, and heavily insulated. Doors have large safety glass windows for easy observation. The doors use a full perimeter rubber gasket. They are attached to the frame with our custom-made hinges that utilize brass wear bushings and can be finely adjusted. Each door is equipped with panic exit hardware for safety and ease of operation.

  • Full vertical down draft airflow with 4–row grated pit system that measures 10' wide X 20' long. The pit perfectly matches the 10' wide X 20' long plenum discharge area--creating a vertical "air curtain" that envelops the vehicle being painted. This reduces the intrusion of dirt from the painter or other contaminated sources that are outside of the air curtain. The booth uses a 10-micron overhead ceiling filtration system, and each section is hinged for easy filter changes.

  • Our specially designed ceiling-mounted indirect lighting package provides full 360° surround lighting so there is ideal illumination everywhere in the booth—we even have lighting over the drive through doors so hood and rear bumper work is easier to do. Fourteen 6–tube fluorescent light fixtures are installed in our standard 25' booth with broad spectrum color-correcting bulbs. This system provides 150 lumens per square foot of booth. By reflecting off the white walls and the white components of the ceiling area, our lighting system is virtually glare and shadow free.

  • NorAM's Mach–3X series heated air system with deluxe controls. This unit provides 1.5 million BTUs of direct fired 100% efficient heating coupled with 14,000 CFM or more airflow. The unit uses double inlet, forward-curved blowers and has a fully spark resistant exhaust system with the bearings mounted outside of the heated air stream. The unit is belt driven and operates at only 65-70 decibels (very quiet—about as loud as a normal conversation). It typically uses two 10 HP energy-efficient TEFC motors.

  • A VFD electronically controls the exhaust motor. It features 80-90% recirculation on curing cycle. All models have full speed airflow through the cabin on spray and cure cycles for great results when applying or curing conventional, high solid, or waterborne paints. This system features our premium temperature controller with multiple set points and PID "fuzzy logic" enhancements. The exhaust VFD controls cabin pressure on spraying, change over, and curing cycles by changing the motor pitch.

  • Our exclusive X-VALVE system allows the motors to run at full speed during changeover with no over-pressurization or "dust up" like other booths suffer from. Our system uses high capacity pocket style filtration on intake, recirculation, and exhaust, plus floor over-spray filters and 10-micron ceiling filtration of processed air. Units are pre–wired, test fired, and calibrated at the factory before shipment to insure the highest performance and efficiency. THESE HEAT SYSTEMS, THEIR CONTROLS, AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE ETL LISTED SEPARATELY AND AS ASSEMBLIES.
